10. Ben's Guide to U.S. Government for Kids
This site is a great resource for anything related to the United States government. This site is also geared toward all grades, becoming more complex and covering more topics in each level. Ben's Guide covers U.S. symbols, citizenship, how laws are made, branches of government, and the election process just to name a few.
9. Maps.com Games
This site covers anything related to maps, including reference atlases. I found the maps games and practice particularly useful, allowing students to test out their understanding of the continents, countries in each continent, capitals, and trivia about each topic.
8. Smithsonian Virtual Tour
If you can't go to the Smithsonian in person, take a virtual tour. Students of all ages will love this virtual tour of the Smithsonian Museum of Natural History. Great for all ages, this tour covers every room, allows the user to find out more information, as well as examine pictures up close during the tour.
7. Planets for Kids
This site is a wonderful resource for anything dealing with astronomy. With in-depth information covering each planet, as well as stars and the asteroid belt, this is a great resource for curious students or any research projects. With stimulating pictures, solid information and a few videos, this site should not only satisfy curiosity, but also promote further exploration.

AAA Math covers every grade level through eighth grade and has tutorials and practice for each subject with these grades. On the scholastics website you can find interactive stories, educational games, as well as resources for parents and teachers. There are also videos, as well as places to create your own stories. This is a great resource to get your kids hooked on reading.

National Geographic Kids has resources on animals, countries and communities. There are even fun science projects that can be found there. Brain Pop is not only for younger students, but there is also a site for older students, as well as ESL students.
